ABOUT SESSIONS:

Shakespeare in love or in love with Shakespeare?
On this the 400th anniversary of Shakespeare's death, we'll look at his lasting legacy on the English language and how being creative with words and drama can  play an important part in the modern classroom. We'll have a brief look at the history of the English language and Shakespeare's part in it, we'll review some of the plays and sonnets and how to include elements of it into an English course, and most importantly, we'll have some fun.

Communicative language teaching
Well nobody teaches uncommunicative teaching do they? Seriously though, sometimes we forget that English is a language and first and foremost a communicative tool rather than just a subject to be analysed and tested. How would you define a communicative activity and why should you get students to do them? This session will look at simple activity types to include in your lessons and how to use the student output effectively.
